More Deceptive Advertising By Channel One

April 26, 2010

Advertising to kids is unfair to begin with.  Advertisers know how to manipulate kids just like they do older people.

Advertising to kids becomes much worse when the ads are deceptive.  When ads don’t tell young people what they are about or when they look like public service announcements or when they look like non-advertising content, then the ads become a dirty joke played on children.

Channel One News is in the business of playing dirty jokes on kids.  (A few: Channel One Says, “F.U.” To Kids, Flashing To Sell Deodorant, Herbal Essence Ad Shocks Schools)

Who is Rosa?  What is a “Kin poll”?  Surely children want their friends to be “really” friends.  This looks important.

What this is is an advertisement for a cell phone that may not make many parents happy.
