From Jim Metrock: Longtime Channel One on-air personality Jessica Kumari has called it quits. Obligation was surprised in August 2011 when Ms. Kumari came back for yet another year. When she came back for a sixth year in 2012, I thought she must have given up on wanting a career in electronic journalism. If you have any ambition to be a real, legit reporter, you can’t stay too long at Channel One. Ms. Kumari stayed too long. Ms. Kumari benefited from her young audience being under contract to Channel One. Her audience couldn’t turn her off. At Channel One she didn’t have to earn her audience; now she does.
