Channel One promo filmed by students March 2016 Hedgesville MS

From Jim Metrock:  Hedgesville Middle School evidently is continuing to show movie commercials and other ads for products in its classrooms.  Showing Channel One News according to the contract takes up one hour a week of taxpayer-funded school time.  Let’s hope Berkeley County citizens will start to get upset with the wasteful use of time in their schools.  BTW Channel One should have paid each of these students for their performance in this promotional video that school officials allowed to be filmed on school property.

Imagine any other private company, like Walmart, using public school students in a commercial, filmed on location on taxpayer-owned school property, without the knowledge or consent of parents, and without any payment to the school district or to the students/actors in the commercial.  Make no mistake: this is a commercial for Channel One News.  Videos like this help to keep other schools from dropping Channel One.
