Raunchy PG13 Movies Continue To Be Advertised

May 2, 2001

On April 5, Channel One ran a commercial for Josie and the Pussycats. This movie has a lot of “fun” with the word “p***y.” Sexual dialogue and profanity is routine in this movie as it is in virtually all Channel One advertised films. Families don’t stand a chance against Hollywood’s best friend Channel One,

On April 11, Channel One advertised “Joe Dirt.” Obligation will have more on these two movies later, but we urge parents and teachers to see both of these movies and if you have the time see “Monkeybone” and “HeadOver Heels” and “Dude, Where’s My Car?”

Channel One is fighting dirty in their efforts to profit off these vulgar movies. If more kids go see this slime, then the movie studios will profit and they will run even more ads on Channel One in the future. What Channel One is doing is a form of child abuse. If you are reading this and have Channel One still in your neighborhood school and you haven’t done anything to remove it, then shame on you.

dirty for the kids.

Channel One dumps this toxic waste on children because we have allowed them to get away with it. Our children don’t need parents and other citizens to just shake their heads and say “Boy, this Channel One is a bunch of garbage.” They need adults who will pass around petitions, who will rally public support for commercial-free classrooms. They need adults who will stand up to these corporate predators. What are you doing about Channel One in your community?
