Run of the House (WB Network)

Parents Television Council says, “Run of the House is not recommended for children of any age.”

What Channel One executives might say if they were asked:

Yeah, we advertised it to kids. Big deal. If we can advertise a drug movie to children, don’t you think we can advertise this TV show? Come on now, stop being so prudish. This is a MTV world. Eh, that’s why we have partnered with MTV. Listen, we have the undivided attention of up to eight million students each school day. We are in charge of the content – not the school. We’ll do whatever we want to do. Deal with it.

This is a frame from one of Channel One’s commercials for Run of the House on the WB Network.

Actual school time is spent trying to encourage children to watch this TV show. If your school still has Channel One News, then it’s not your school board’s fault – it’s yours. Children need adults who will get angry about this and, more importantly, will take ACTION. Make this the year, the month, that you clean outthis cultural rot in your local school district. It starts with one person.
