The U.S. Senate Finance Committee has published emails and letters that document how Channel One’s lead lobbyist and convicted felon Jack Abramoff used his connections and Channel One’s money to buy ‘support’ for the controversial company. The information in this Minority Staff report released yesterday, October 12, shows how Channel One tried to crush the efforts of parents, teachers, and others in the public who supported commercial-free classrooms.

It will take a while to review all the material in this report. Obligation will report on it as soon as we read through it. The full report can be downloaded here, but be warned it is a huge file – 24 MB . It is 608 pages, but it is a page turner.

Obligation’s Jim Metrock said, "The people involved in this dirty business have little concept of right and wrong. It’s all about money and how much it takes to buy people and organizations that are all too ready to put a price tag on their principles. These emails will make you sick at your stomach. There is no other word than ‘sleazy’ to describe what Channel One and their parent company did with Casino Jack Abramoff and crew."
