One hyperlink tells a lot about Channel One’s decline.

March 6, 2013

From Jim Metrock:

Once upon a time Channel One News signed up schools by offering to install a modest TV network connecting classrooms, if schools showed their daily, 12-minute, news/marketing TV program. The link on today’s Channel One’s home page indicates that Channel One is no longer in the business of loaning TV sets to schools.

A school administrator who is thinking about signing up for Channel One, who clicks on the “Get Channel One News In Your School” hyperlink on the top left of Channelone.com’s homepage is sent off Channel One’s web site to a page on Promethean World’s site.

Unless I am missing something here, the message is: If you have Promethean white boards in your school, you can get Channel One programming for your school.  Nowhere do I see any mention of a “free” TV network.

No wonder this youth marketing company is losing some many schools so fast for so long a time.

If a school has enough money to purchase expensive Promethean boards, then they are a well-off school district, and those type of districts usually  have little reason to sign up with Channel One News.

If Channel One is depending on Promethean World to save their company, they are gravely mistaken.

Feb. 9, 2013 – Channel One is no longer “powered” by Promethean.
